The Frankie & Benny's app is the first of a series of branded restaurant apps that we are building with The Restaurant Group. We undertook a complete overhaul of the UX and design of the application, creating versions for iPhone and Android as well as a universal build allowing for installations on tablet devices.
The apps include a loyalty based game with vouchers as “prizes” and the whole service works in sync with the existing CRM service as well as integrating with mobile vouchers from Eagle Eye.
We’ve built the Frankie and Benny’s app in a way that allows our client to update and amend almost every aspect of app content without having to re-submit the app to the store.
This provides for great flexibility, and means that updating menus, offers and other content can be managed quickly and efficiently.
We’ve also built an app framework that means that new brand apps can be created efficiently, allowing the service to be applied across the group’s restaurant estate in cost-effective way.
This doesn’t mean cookie-cutter apps, each framework is flexible allowing for unique brand-relevant features and functions.
Results so far
The application launched in late 2016, and has had huge success on both iOS and Android, peaking at #5 in the iOS leisure charts soon after release.
The Restaurant Group has since asked us to build apps for some of its other restaurant brands.
We’ve entered into a longer term maintenance and development contract, which is allowing us to make progressive enhancements to the experience.
